09.03.2022
Since January 2021, the University of Applied Arts Vienna and the City of Vienna have been awarding the Vanessa Preger-McGillivray Prize for a final thesis in the field of fine arts. The prize is named after the student who was murdered in an attack in downtown Vienna on November 2, 2020. Vanessa Preger-McGillivray had begun her fine arts studies at the University of Applied Arts Vienna in the autumn of 2020. The award is intended to commemorate the student who gave the award its name, to visualize the potential of studying art, to provide inspiration, and to reflect the hopes and perspectives of students for an artistically fulfilling life.
