UNTITLED | UNTITLED

Judith P. Fischer is a lecturer at the Institute of Art and Technology, Department of Life Drawing

Do we need a title to grasp the content/message of a work? To what extent does the title help us "get into" the work? Especially in reduction, abstraction, and minimal art, a compelling title is often needed to understand the work.

Sound and scent installation

Arts-based Research-Installation by MUELLER-DIVJAK in the course of the artistic project SENSING LIVING SYSTEMS at AIL

We are all living systems: sensitive beings embedded in and connected to other living Systems. The art-based research project SENSING LIVING SYSTEMS (SLS) explores how sensory experiences – especially through smell, touch and sound – can foster a deeper awareness of our interconnected world and provide an understanding of living, complex systems – whether in nature, society or art.

Liddy Scheffknecht: Living Room (Closing)

In the exhibition Living Room (Closing), Liddy Scheffknecht (Cultural Studies | Art and Communication Practices) explores the transformation of the living room. The fragile installation, made of cardboard and paper tape, is formally reminiscent of a classic living room: a sofa, table, chest of drawers, and a television are clearly recognizable. But the ensemble is not stable—it can be opened and closed like an oversized pop-up book.

HINSCHAUN! POGLEJMO!

Carinthia and National Socialism | Koroška in nacionalsocializem

With contributions by Paul Petritsch (Ortsbezogene Kunst)

Dom Museum Wien: In the Spirit of Friendship

The subject of friendship is thoroughly existential and timeless, cutting to the bone of human existence. A theme that spans all historical periods and across all regions of the world. At the same time, the subject seems particularly relevant right now: In light of the threatening state of the world, the countless crises, conflicts, and increasing social divisions, Dom Museum Wien’s decision to dedicate this exhibition to a conciliatory interpersonal subject is all the more important.
