Recap: Angewandte Graduation Winter Semester 2025/26

On 30 January, the graduation ceremony for the graduates of the winter semester 2025/26 took place in the Atrium of the University of Applied Arts Vienna. The Angewandte warmly congratulates all graduates and wishes them all the best for their future.

Recap: Exhibition of graduation projects of the winter semester 2025/26

On 23 and 24 January, the University of Applied Arts Vienna presented an exhibition of final projects from the current winter semester. On display were artistic and scientific works from the university’s 8 institutes, ranging from fine and media arts, design and architecture to art and cultural studies, as well as conservation and restoration.

Who are we? was the guiding theme of the inauguration of Ulrike Kuch as the new Rector of the University of Applied Arts Vienna. This question of the Angewandte’s identity, responsibilities, profile, and future was explored from multiple perspectives in interviews with members of the university and people connected to it.

On 15 January 2025, Ulrike Kuch was officially inaugurated as the new Rector of the University of Applied Arts Vienna. The guiding theme of the event was the question Who are we?. This question was explored through speeches, performances, and a film, followed by a lively celebration.

Fascination Paper

15. December 2025
The exhibition Fascination Paper at the Albertina Vienna is dedicated to the diversity of the medium of paper and traces its development from the 15th century to the present day. Through exceptional juxtapositions, works from the Graphic Collection, the Architecture Collection, and the Collection of Contemporary Art are brought into dialogue with contemporary works, opening up new perspectives on paper as a carrier of ideas, experimentation, and space.

Among the more recent contributions is Living Room (Closing) by Liddy Scheffknecht, a lecturer in the KKP department and an alumna of the University of Applied Arts Vienna.
