Margit
Busch: “The soul is fluid“ & Michael Bachhofer: "The Big Bug Immersion"
Margit Busch (Alumna Art & Science), Michael
Bachhofer (Science Visualization Lab / Digitale Kunst)
While Margit Busch explores the visual and acoustic
aesthetics of fountains, you may also have the opportunity to join her in exploring the interior of the showroom during the
opening. Michael Bachhofer will present his 2.5D and 3D insect scanner as a live performer, accompanied by an interactive
projection of selected results.
Additionally, two microscopy workshops invite visitors
to freely explore the microworld within Margit's installation. You'll be able to examine prepared slides, small objects such
as insects and technical components, as well as anything you bring along yourself. Ever wondered what your toothbrush looks
like under a microscope? Your fingerprints or skin? Or how your hair compares to your partner’s? Bring water samples, a flower
blossom, leaves—whatever sparks your curiosity! The workshops will be co-guided by Dr. Alexandra Gruber. We’ll have compound
microscopes (transmitted light, 50x–400x magnification, plus one 50x–1000x), one stereomicroscope for real-time 3D viewing
(reflected light, 8x–40x magnification), another with 10x magnification, and several portable microscopes for use with mobile
phones.
